What I Packed for Paris: Travel Jewellery Essentials

Jo in paris showcasing her travel jewellery

Last week I had a great couple of days in Paris for a friend’s significant birthday celebration.

We had lots of lovely things planned, from dinners in beautiful places to amazing exhibitions, along with plenty of daytime walking, so the wardrobe requirements were varied.

Why Travel Jewellery Matters

Obviously jewellery plays a huge part in my packing decisions.

No outfit ever feels finished without it. Its potential isn’t realised and, to be honest, I feel a little naked without my jewellery.

When it comes to travel jewellery, especially for a short trip, I need pieces that are versatile and light to carry. Jewellery needs to work across multiple outfits, from casual daytime looks to more dressed-up evenings.

For this trip, two necklaces formed the backbone of my selection.

The Saskia Necklace

The Saskia necklace above worked brilliantly for both smart and casual outfits.

It’s incredibly light to wear, which makes it ideal travel jewellery, and still gives great impact. It’s also a perfect neutral, so it works across lots of colours.

I always team it with a horn cuff and a few Angel bangles, as I love the mix of textures. It’s an easy combination that feels styled without being overthought.

The Sandrine Necklace

The Sandrine maxi chain, with the detachable Aquamarine drop, was my second travel piece.

At 18 inches, it gave me a shorter option alongside the Saskia. It’s also lightweight, making it very comfortable to wear all day.

During the day I wore it without the dropper for a more relaxed look, perfect with a shirt or T-shirt. In the evening I added the Aquamarine for a bolder feel, ideal with the neckline of a silk shirt.

One necklace, two looks. Perfect for travel.

Packing Smart

When packing travel jewellery, it’s about choosing pieces that work harder.

Pieces that can be styled in different ways and transition easily from day to night make everything simpler. Keeping things light and versatile means you can create multiple looks without overpacking.

Below are the pieces I packed for Paris.
