I recently completed a bespoke jewellery commission for a customer, and it reminded me just how much I enjoy this part of the business.
It can be both a nerve-wracking time and the best time. I feel nervous because I want to deliver the customer’s vision and meet their expectations — and it becomes the best time when they truly love the result.
Knowing that a piece, created uniquely for them, will be treasured and perhaps even passed down to another generation gives me enormous pleasure.

Transforming Sentimental Pieces

The gold cuff shown above was created by delicately removing stones from an inherited brooch — a piece that held deep sentimental value to its owner.
Her intention is to wear and enjoy the cuff for a time, before passing it on to her daughter, who was also involved in the design process. That shared experience adds another layer of meaning to the finished piece.
