Elevating the Casual: How to Style Casual Jewellery Effortlessly

As you might expect, it’s very unusual to see me without jewellery — whether I’m dressed casually or formally.

Speaking to customers and personal stylists, it seems people often find it harder to choose casual jewellery.

We all want to look stylish, put together and individual, whatever we’re wearing — but achieving that effortless feel can sometimes be the challenge.

Designing Jewellery for Everyday Wear

I created the Audrey and Judy necklaces for exactly this reason.

I asked myself a simple question — what would I like to wear casually?

The answer always comes back to pieces that feel easy, wearable and natural. The key to a successful casual jewellery look is that it should never feel overdone. It should look effortless.

Starting with Texture: Suede and Denim

For me, inspiration often begins with textures.

I love suede with denim — whether that’s a jacket, loafers or boots. Those two textures work beautifully together, creating a relaxed yet considered look.

That’s where the idea started — with a rich chocolate brown suede.

Pairing Pearls with Suede

From there, I immediately knew it had to be pearls.

The combination of chocolate suede and the soft, cream lustre of pearls works so beautifully together. There’s a natural warmth and contrast that feels both elevated and easy to wear.

Pearls also work with everything. When worn in a modern way, they avoid feeling too classic or formal, keeping your casual jewellery look fresh and current.

They also suit every skin tone — even my winter pale skin.

The Audrey and Judy Necklaces

That’s how the Audrey and Judy suede necklaces were created.

They are the perfect combination of suede and freshwater baroque pearls, designed specifically with casual styling in mind.

Each necklace is adjustable, allowing you to wear it with any neckline — from an open shirt to layered over a simple white T-shirt.

Every pearl is individually selected and then specialist drilled to accommodate the suede, ensuring both quality and finish reflect the care that goes into each piece.

Finishing the Look

To complete a stylish, laid-back look, I would pair these necklaces with the Madge hoop or a simple Otti stud earring.

Keeping the rest of the jewellery minimal allows the textures and materials to stand out, maintaining that effortless feel that defines great casual jewellery styling.
