Shoot: New Ways to Wear Timeless Jewellery
A couple of weeks ago, we had a shoot of new product, but also revisited some old favourites styled in new ways.
The versatility and longevity of my jewellery is incredibly important to me. In fact, a customer from well over a decade ago, from when I had my store, got in touch this week to say she was excited to find me again and shared that she was still loving the pieces she bought back then. She had continued enjoying them with different outfits she’d bought over the intervening years.
That was so wonderful to hear.
For me, that’s exactly what great jewellery should do. It should move with you through different stages of life, work effortlessly with changing wardrobes, and still feel relevant years later.
That’s the beauty of timeless jewellery.
Styling the Gina Necklace Casually
The new Gina necklace is a perfect example of versatility and completely smashes the myth that pearls can feel “old”.
Pictured left, Mhairi is wearing the Gina layered with the Elenore necklace in silver, styled simply with a basic black T-shirt and black jeans. The result feels modern, casual and relaxed — proof that pearls can feel incredibly fresh when styled in a contemporary way.
Add a leather jacket and you’re good to go.
Dressing Up Timeless Jewellery
Above, I’ve styled the Gina necklace in a more dressed-up way, enhancing the look of a classic black silk dress and cream blazer.
The beauty of timeless jewellery is that it works across occasions. The same piece that feels cool and casual during the day can instantly bring elegance to a more refined outfit in the evening.
Ultimately, it feels timeless and unequivocally stylish.
Why the Gina Necklace Works
The combination of the round freshwater pearls, large baroque pearls, and the detail of the vintage-look diamante insets creates such an incredible balance.
It feels classic but still modern. Elegant but wearable.
And if I’m lucky enough, I certainly plan to still be wearing this piece in my eighties — fully channeling Coco Chanel.
