My Passion for Peridots: The Story Behind My New Peridot Ring

I’m excited to share with you a new delivery of gemstones that recently arrived.
I’ve been searching for some time for high-quality, perfectly round Peridots in a very specific size to fit a particular ring design I had in mind. After a long search, I finally found exactly what I was looking for on a sourcing trip to Hong Kong — and they have now arrived safely with me.
Below are the stones I selected and why I love working with Peridot.
Why I Love Peridot

One of the key reasons I’m so passionate about Peridot is simple — I love green.
Peridot is one of the very few gemstones that occurs in one colour only: green. Although always green, it comes in a beautiful variety of shades, ranging from pale fresh tones to deep olive hues.
My personal preference is a mid-olive shade, where plenty of light can reflect through the stone. I’m drawn to Peridots that feel lively and bright, rather than too dark or too pale. When the colour is balanced beautifully, the stone feels vibrant and full of life.
Peridot is also famous for being idiochromatic, meaning its colour comes from its own chemical composition — iron — rather than from external impurities. I always find that fascinating. Nature gives us these extraordinary colours entirely on its own.
They’re just gorgeous.
It never stops amazing me that something so beautiful is formed naturally.
The Meaning Behind Peridot
Beyond its colour, Peridot is believed to be a stone with powerful cleansing qualities for both the body and the mind.
That connection to renewal and clarity feels particularly special — especially when set into a thoughtfully designed Peridot ring that can be worn every day.
Designing the New Peridot Ring
The sterling silver ring shown above is in its raw state, straight from our casting house in Birmingham.
I designed this Peridot ring to be fairly light in weight and open sided, with the deliberate intention of allowing light to pass through the stones. Light is so important when working with Peridot — it enhances the colour, depth and sparkle of the gemstone.
The open structure ensures that the beauty of the Peridot can be appreciated fully by the wearer, rather than being hidden within a heavy setting.
This ring style will also be available in Amethyst and Blue Topaz, but there is something particularly special about it in Peridot.
A Personal Connection
Peridot is also the birthstone for August, which happens to be my birthday month — lucky me.
And if that wasn’t enough, Peridots are traditionally linked to the 16th wedding anniversary, making a Peridot ring a meaningful gift as well as a beautiful one.
Now Available: The Isha Peridot Ring
The Isha Peridot ring is new to the website today, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you.
After the search, the sourcing trip, and the careful design process, it’s always such a joy to see a finished piece ready to be worn and loved.
